Overview
This project found me designing two chapters, the front and back covers and the spine of an academic book. The content consisted of a selection of essays about typography where I had to consider multiple complex aspects of the book when designing it, including text, images, captions, references and page furniture.
The aim was to create a sophisticated academic book so I designed using a two-column approach to split the essays from the footnotes and captions. For the front cover, I wanted to step away from the generic norms of academic book covers so this book would stand out on a shelf. So, I designed a textured cover with spot UV letters and a belly band with all essential information on it.
